I have a small update today and it is certainly good. The test from my past appointment came back with good results. There is a 99% chance that I will not go into labor in the next two weeks. My doctor is very please with my improvement and will be seeing me on Friday where I will receive any change of orders.
So, I am still at home and staying off my feet, but it seems to be working so I will continue until the doctor says otherwise. I'm also getting great ideas about cooking and home improvement, so if anybody needs a good chicken recipe or an idea on how to decorate a patio...![]()
After being stuck in my apartment for a little over a week, I am beginning to think that maybe of the many diseases that pirates suffered from, Cabin Fever may have been the worst. Really, what's a few spots from not eating enough fruit compared to looking at the same thing day after day? I will be sure to post my final result when I feel I have reached it, but it looks like Cabin Fever may be winning.
It seems I will have a few more days to calculate the results of my study. I just got back from my Dr.'s appointment and it went very well. I have shown some improvement, but I am waiting on a test that will determine whether or not I can return to some normal activity. So, things may be back to a somewhat normal state on Monday, but for now I will continue building a good relationship with our love seat. So, continue to keep us in your prayers, they are really helping!
It seems that Caleb is very anxious to make his debut, which means I am getting my fill of re-runs, Food Network, and HGTV.
Our appointment last Tuesday went well. His heartbeat, as usual, was good, although he wouldn't stay still so that the nurse could listen to it for very long. All of my work up was good as well and the results from my blood work came back without any cause for concern. Everything was going great until the doctor told me that I was showing early signs of labor, a little earlier than what she would like.
So, the last few days I have been staying off my feet and getting familiar with some of the shows I don't get a chance to watch during the day. It has also been nice to catch up on some of my reading. I'm hoping that after Thursday everything will return to normal so that I can help a little with moving and setting up the nursery.
I think after we get settled, I might have Keith on reduced activity for a while because of all he has been doing since I have been out of commission. He's been taking such good care of Caleb and me, but I know he's exhausted!
I'll have an update on Thursday. Please keep us in your prayers. We are both fine, but I would like to be back on track instead of running early.
I know some of you have probably been wondering why I haven't posted in a while. Well, to be honest we have been in a somewhat uneventful period, but things should start picking up soon.
We are already in our third trimester and are going to more and more Dr. appointments. Time has really flown! We are now up to an appointment every three weeks instead of four or five, and that should only last for one more appointment until we start going every two weeks. My last two appointments have gone well. I hear his heartbeat every time and it is very strong. The last appointment included my glucose test, which seems to be fine seeing as how they haven't called me with any concerns.
The most exciting part of the past month has been Caleb's movement. His movement seems to get stronger by the day. Keith has even started to feel him moving. Actually, that was his Father's Day present. Caleb kicks so hard now that someone standing next to me could see it. In fact, I have had a few instances lately where I have been in a business meeting and Caleb will start moving so much that I have to put my notebook in front of me so that the others at the meeting don't see it and have the urge to call Mulder and Scully. Keith and I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
We have also registered, which was an overwhelming experience. I thought the wedding registry was challenging, but it is nothing compared to this. Although, it is somewhat more enjoyable and that more than makes up for the hours of research and walking aimlessly through endless aisles of pastel colors.
Other than those events, things have calmed down a little and now we are just waiting and trying to get into a place where Caleb will have a nursery, which will be in the next 45 days, but more on that later.
I have finally gotten around to posting again! The past couple of weeks have been quite busy, so it has been a little harder than I thought it would to find the time to sit down and give another update as well as make it possible for everyone to view the video and pictures.
As you all know we have a little boy, Caleb Adam. We are so excited! Little boys seem to add so much character to everyday life. According to our last appointment, he is a very healthy boy. The ultrasound tech measured the brain, kidneys, and heart. She said that all of the measurements looked good. We were also able to see the heart very well. The doctor said that everything is going very well and she is happy with Caleb's development.
The ultrasound was, of course, the most exciting part of the appointment. There is a link below so that you can all see it. He wasn't extremely active. He was a little stubborn at first because he wouldn't move to let us see his face, but toward the end you will see that he finally let us see his face. Any wiggling you see on the screen is the tech trying to get him to move. Some of our favorite parts come at the end of the video. You can see him stretching his legs out. That seems to be one of his favorite things to do. You can also see him swallowing.
There are also some pictures. We got several, but we just posted some of our favorites. One of the best is the one where his arm is close to his face.
Although, he didn't seem to be very active two weeks ago I am starting to realize that he is quite active. He moves throughout the day and is using those very muscular legs! It is a lot of fun discovering how big his is getting. He makes sure to tell me every day that he is still there.
The next appointment is on June 4th and I will try my best to post something as soon as possible so that everyone doesn't have to wait so long next time.
And here are the pictures:
