Caleb Adam Kelso
Born: September 16, 2008, 11:02 PM
8lbs, 3oz, 22 1/2 inches.
Caleb and Juda are doing well, and should be released tomorrow afternoon.
Here are a few pictures. We'll have a lot more to post soon!
I have an update from my doctor's appointment today. And we have some big news! Sorry, no pictures though. Our work ups were good. Heartbeats and blood pressure were good. However, my doctor is anxious to get him here before he gets any bigger. He is now a healthy 8 pounds. If something doesn't happen before Monday, I will be reporting Monday at 6pm to the hospital. She will see if she can gently help me along. So, she won't be using any extremely powerful medications unless she absolutely has to. We will be sure to keep everybody informed.
No later than Tuesday, Caleb should be here! Keep us in your thoughts and prayers!
Two posts in two days seems like a lot for me, however, I promised ultrasound pictures. He is a big boy. It is estimated by the ultrasound that he is 7 pounds 14 ounces. The length of his thigh alone is about 7 centimeters. Needless to say, this is making my doctor nervous. So, if something doesn't happen by the 17th she will be helping things along. I have now been released to be more active. We will be sure to keep everyone posted.
Enjoy the pictures! He is almost here!

Although it has been a month since my last post, not much has changed. Doctor appointments are still going well. I am still working from my office half days and working from home half days. Caleb's work ups are always good as are mine. We are up to weekly appointments now and if I go into labor my doctor won't stop it. I think I have a little time before that happens though. Caleb moves a lot. He doesn't kick as much as he just stretches and turns. Tomorrow we are going for an ultrasound to see how big Caleb is getting to be, so if we get any pictures we will be sure to post them. I am feeling well. Except for achy joints, some swelling in my feet, and being tired I feel good and for that I am very grateful. As promised, I have included a picture of myself.
Well, on to the pictures. This past weekend has been quite active, but so much fun. We had two showers and set up the nursery. Both Keith and I were really tired by the time we were done, but it was the good kind of tired. The showers were both so much fun. Thanks to everyone who planned. All of your hard work has not gone unnoticed. And thanks to everyone who came as well as those who couldn't come, but were thinking about us. All of you have helped so much in preparing for Caleb and we are so thankful to all of you.
The pictures below are pictures of the nursery. My sister, Abby and sister-in-law, Jessica were both so sweet to help me set up the room. My mom has been helping me for the last little while with Caleb's clothes and was able to finish that up on Monday. We have been so blessed to receive a lot of clothes from those who have children that have grown out of the sizes that we now need. It has been more wonderful than what I can say to not have to worry about buying an entire wardrobe for Caleb. I am so excited to have his room ready. It is certainly something that I can now get off of my mind. It will change somewhat after he gets here. The pack n play will be in the living room instead of in the nursery and the bassinet will be in our bedroom. We will be getting a crib in October or so because Consumer Reports says that is the best time to buy baby gear. We will also probably get a changing table at that time as well. The pack n play has a changing table that will be fine for right now. I am very happy with it. I'm sure that some of you have noticed there are stuffed animals in the bassinet. I'm not going to keep them in there, I promise. I just thought it looked cute.
Of course, the Pooh Bears aren't the only things that have been "hanging out" in the bassinet. My cat Pippin has found the bassinet to be a great cat bed. We now keep it behind a closed door so that he doesn't do that any more, but I have to admit it was adorable. We will have to be sure to prevent him from getting in the bassinet or crib with Caleb He has been quite clingy lately and is having to adjust to some changes. I think he will be okay though. Keith's cat Churchill doesn't seem to care, but loves to play with all of the new stuff.
Well, I think that is everything. I know it is really long, but we've been kind of busy and I wanted to share it with everybody. Enjoy the pictures!!!
The weekend brought good news and a lot of activity with it. After two and a half weeks of not being able to leave the love seat much, my doctor released me to return to work on a part-time basis, which is certainly better than nothing. In addition to that all of Caleb's work up as well as mine went fine as usual. So, I am very excited to be somewhat back to normal and happy that Caleb seems to be okay with staying put a little while longer. I have another appointment on Friday and will be sure to update everyone.
Another reason that I am happy that Caleb is being a little more patient is the fact that now I have a nursery to set up. If being pregnant wasn't enough for Keith and me, we also undertook moving. Well, Keith more than me I guess. I was under strict orders not to do anything, which I found extremely challenging. Keith had plenty of help though. His brother, Kevin, my brother-in-law, Justin, and a friend of Justin's, Tyler, all came to help with the furniture while my mom , sisters Mindie and Abby, and my nieces Laycie and Torrie helped with boxes and the smaller stuff, not to mention providing some company for me. They were all so great to help and we are so thankful they did. We are really liking it here. I will be sure to post some pictures once it is presentable and I will most certainly post pictures of the nursery when it is finished as well.
We are both recovering from our weekend, Keith more than me really. I am hopeful that next weekend will bring more good news and less activity.
